Default 2ndary Mirrors

Hi all,

I recently had an accident with my scope - in short I need to get a new
2ndary.

I've found a few places, but most are saying that they need to import the
mirror (It's for an Explorer 200) from China, which could take up to 3
months (!!!)

I have found a supplier that has a 60mm mirror in stock, however my scope
uses a 52mm. Can I get away with using a 60mm? Or would it be too large an
obstruction in the scope?

Cheers,

Tony

Try Barry Watts of Beacon Hill Telescopes. He reconditions this type of
scope and usually has spares.
Do a search for the web site or much quicker ring him on;

01472 692 959.

Keep trying - he loves to talk!

He spends far too much time helping people than making money and he's a
genuine guy.

Good luck,

Hi Paul,

A friend of mine who was chasing some of his contacts says he tried Barry
but unfortunately he didn't have any

I'll drop him an email though, in case he gets one in

I really don't want to miss the transit - I doubt i'll be around for the
next one!!

What in 2012 ?

"While another transit will take place on June 6, 2012, this will not be
seen by British skywatchers, who must wait until 2247 for another chance. "

So Lawrence is not entirely out of his tree (but not entirely in it
either)

You wood have to mention trees again, woodn't you?

While I've pencilled 2247 in my diary - may have to reschedule the
dentist, dammit)

I have an (unused) 56mm of good quality (Oldham Optical) that is surplus
to requirement. Email me if interested.

Best,
Stephen
