Hi, New here.

Was wondering about opinions for the best go-to scopes (within a
resonable buget) or mirrors to build one and where to get the electronics.

I'm planning an observatory on my two story roof.

Thanks in advance.

You will get a lot of good answers here, but you will first need to define
the term "reasonable."

P.S. If your definition of reasonable doesn't "start" at around $3,000 you
need to rethink your definition.

Hi Lou,

If it is to go on the roof, have you considered the problems of vibration?

Also, what size is the observatory? Big dobs take up a lot of space. You
also didn't mention a budget or what you want to see with it.

If you go the dob route and want goto and can build it yourself, google:
"Mel Bartel" +goto +drive. IIRC there is also a group (Yahoo?) just for the
Bartel system.
