I have read in most astronomy books that you should keep a journal of your
observations. I am looking for some help as to what information should be included in these observations. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi Troy,
I started to keep some simple notes just in a notebook while observing. You can keep very extensive observing logs, make sketches, or just write down a few notes for yourself. I keep my observers online on my site. Just go to this link: http://www.backyard-astro.com and choose "The Deep Sky" from the menubar on the left. Have a look into the logs. This can give you an Idea of what you can log down about an object. Also have a look into the reports in the deepsky section. For the moon and planets have a look into the solar system section. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Just send me an e-mail. Best regards, Math Troy Sollenberger wrote: I have read in most astronomy books that you should keep a journal of your observations.
