Default Aurora in Selsey

Unless the Sun has moved just under the north western horizon g Big
area of greeny-blue has appeared against the ever clearing sky. Off
to the beach for a bit of darkness...

Rather short lived. Green-blue faded fast and the area rapidly became
obscured by clouds.

Pete,

Could you paste another link to the picture of the full arc and rays you
posted last night - I know it's here somewhere and it's a cracker...

My more modest efforts are he

Ah - the old C-2100uz strikes again Dave. I presume that you were
using ISO 400 at full exposure? Noise is normally a problem for me
but last night I got away with it because Selsey Bill was about -20
(well it felt like -20 ;-) ).

Fantastic night wasn't it.

My pics are now up on my website (see my sig.) on the front page.
I've got loads of others to trawl through at some point and I've got a
bit of work to do removing a few hot pixels that turn up at 16s ISO
400 (there may be a star or two more than there should be in those
photos at the moment!).

That's correct. I'm still finding my way around the camera and finding
the best setting for each occasion. As it happens I did take a film
camera with me too, so I'll see how those come out in a couple of days
time.

It certainly was - better than watching the telly...

I'll be casting an envious over it shortly.
