Default NASA TV Comes to Sky Digital - 1st October

No, it's not a joke - NASA TV comes to Sky Digital on the 1st of October.

NASA TV will be shown on Channel 268 at these times:-

Weekdays:
*16:00-17:00 (LIVE ISS coverage)
*20:00-21:00 (Recorded ISS coverage)

Weekends
*17:00-18:30 (Live broadcast)

More time will be allocated to NASA TV should it prove popular, so please
spread the word, and also e-mail any comments/suggestions/praise to
David(at)friendlytv.com

If they receive enough encouraging emails, hopefully they'll add more NASA
TV to the channel.

Interesting that it is actually lagging about 10 seconds BEHIND the
streaming version on the Nasa website.

I hope we can come to rely on "Friendly TV" (Sky Digital Channel 268) to
provide coverage of NASA missions when they get going again.

Brendan

That's likely because they are uplinking the web stream!
The quality looks no better than what I get over my broadband 'net
connection.

I tried it a few minutes ago, and although the listing said NASA TV, all
I got was some tedious test game :-(

Knowing Friendly TV, they probably forgot to record the live 4pm showing to
repeat at 8pm.

So I'd watch the live broadcast at 4pm (or 5pm at weekend) or record it
yourself as Friendly TV arn't the most reliable channel in the world!

I watched today's 4pm showing, fairly interesting, some really good views of
the Earth from the ISS amongst other things.

Apparently the lack of NASA TV at 8pm last night was a one off, and all has
been corrected ready for tonight's showing.

Seems like there's still one or two problems, recorded footage aired from
20:00-20:20, followed by a minute or two of some text-message based game and
now a live feed from NASA TV instead of the recorded footage.

Ahh well, at least its on tonight!

Video file has just started.

2nd October at 2020 hrs ~ good reception of NASA TV on 'Friendly TV'

For those of us with Free-To-Air and not SKY DIGITAL receivers, the
parameters are 11623 Mhz , Horizontal Polarised , SR 27500 , VPID 2324 ,
APID 2325 , FEC 2/3 : broadcast without encryption via 28 East (Eurobird 1
satellite beaming generally over most of Europe and northernmost Africa ).
( Seven other FTA TV broadcasts also share this frequency MUX ).

A welcome addition to European Ku band receivable channels list !

Ant.
