Default ETX-125 HELP!!!

Greetings...

I bought a custom built etx-125 that appears to be built like a tank.
Problem is, I have no way to get it mounted. I need a set of tube rings. I
measured and the 5.75" rings from scopestuff should work. Does anyone know
any other sources for a set of rings for a bare etx-125?

Also, can anyone verify that diameter? Help please!

Thank you,

Doink

Don't know how you measured it but if you agree with Scopestuff that is a good
start.

The problem I think is that the rings for the ETX-125 are that they are for
mounting a guide scope, 3 point mounts, probably not ideal for normal
observing.

I am quite sure that Ken Dauzat at Ken's rings can fix you up, maybe more
expensive but they would be the right thing.

Visit Mike Weasner's Mighty ETX site and send him a message with your
question. Would be useful if you send him some photos of the "custom built"
ETX-125.

This is the Arkansas Sky Observatory site-- it is the home of Clay Sherrod
who does tune-up work on ETX scopes and is quite familiar with them -- ask
him -- photos would help.

Well there is. I have it.

Hi:

Yes there is. As for where to get rings to mount it, I'd try Ken's Rings and
Things. He's an Astromart sponsor, so just go there and click on his link. Ken
has sold some of these himself, so I think he'll be able to help you.

What I meant was you have a scope that someone trashed,
then tried to make functional again.

Hi:

Probably not. Quite a number of 125s (idenfitiable by their white metal tubes)
were sold for the optical communications industry. They are quite nice, and do
not "feature" the plastic flip-mirror/rear cell. Drawbacks? The ones I have
seen have had uncoated correctors. This doesn't seem to hurt things a whole
lot, though, with the scopes in question providing nice views.

Peace,
