If you are in the habit of LYING to children & adults alike, then you'd surely NOT want to include these links. Hey Phil! I thought you may be interested in a, ahem, "different" opinion on link recommendations than the item previously posted. My all-time favorite Master List O' Links is "Jeff Bondono's Astronomy Page": http://mywebpages.comcast.net/bondono2/astro.html NASA keeps a list of "Links for Kids" at: http://flightprojects.msfc.nasa.gov/kids.html (I have found "SpaceLink", the last item on the page, to be most interesting for kids) We've been on a roll at JPL. Our home page always has something new: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov We also have a "Solar System for Kids" page at: http://sse.jpl.nasa.gov/kids It's hard to beat the "Astro Pic of the Day": http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod There are very cool activities at "Paper Plate Education: Serving the Universe on a Paper Plate": http://analyzer.depaul.edu/paperplate/links.htm -------------------------------------------------- **For folks who are interested in going deeper I recommend: Astronomer Phil Plait's "Bad Astronomy" page does battle against the forces of ignorance (and bad scifi movies): http://www.badastronomy.com "The Telescope Buyers FAQ" by Slc. For observing I like the Abrams Planetarium "Sky Watchers Diary": http://www.pa.msu.edu/abrams/SkyWatc...ary/Diary.html For a nominal charge, there is also the Abrams Planetarium "Sky Calendar": http://www.pa.msu.edu/abrams/SkyCalendar "Skymaps.com" offers free monthly sky charts (both north and south): http://www.skymaps.com/ "StarDate" (http://stardate.org/radio/program.php?f=today) and "Earth & Sky" (http://earthsky.com/) are good, general interest programs. Phil,
A great site that I came across is the Astronomy Education Review. It is at http://aer.noao.edu/ Look in the back issues as well. Lots of great articles about Astronomy Education at all ages. I have used some of the ideas for presentations that I have given to my daughter's classes. Sincerely, Erik socalsw "Phillip Smith" wrote in message ...
