Default Transit of Venus

I am wondering if anyone makes use of a spectrometer when observing. It is
said that the
transit of the sun by Venus will yield information about the atmosphere of
Venus if a spectrum
can be obtained. I know that spectrometers are used for star composition.
Maybe this can
happen with Venus.

Great idea, but *heck*! How would one separate the spectrogram of Venus' atmosphere
from the (ahem) somewhat significant background noise?

Take a flat-field 'gram first?
