"August 2, 2004
The project remained down all weekend, but we are back up now. To add insult to injury, the entire lab lost network connectivity to the rest of the world for a few hours this morning. In light of the unexpected length of this last outage, we are looking into mechanisms that allow us to keep certain parts of the project up while others remain down for repair" |

Does anyone know if it's just a sign that the servers are overloaded or that there are more problems. Maybe the question is has anyone been able to connect? -- Ed http://www.geeks.org/~ed/Usenet_Servers.html strip to reply |

I have gotten about 1/10 of my wu's results to upload today with no new wu's
to do. My stats have not changed since the first day I got some wu's. I got 1 computer to clean out its SetiDriver cache, my other two are doing the classic still. Oh, will they fix the progress indicators? With in 5 minutes my computer shows 50% + then takes 3-6 hours to finish the rest. "Klaatu" wrote in message m... -0500 in sci.astro.seti, ";-\)" tapped out on the keyboard: I have gotten about 1/10 of my wu's results to upload today with no new wu's to do. I now have no WUs to crunch, and the server is refusing to upload 2 I have completed. There's no point in going back to SETI Classic, as I understand they have run out of WUs and are just sending out old ones to humour the crunchers. I will switch off my computer when I'm not using it and save electricity until the SETI team get things sorted. -- John Youles Norwich England UK j dot y.o.u.l.e.s at n.t.l.w.o.r.l.d dot c.o.m |
