Hey all. I'm curious how many telescopes you all have purchased for
yourselves over the years of your observing. I've bought one. |

The very first one (60mm Tasco) I got from a garage sale, just to see what it can do. The second (70mm junky refractor) was also from a garage sale - as an upgrade of the Tasco. I got "hooked" and last year I got my third scope, this time a "real" one - 8" Orion on EQ mount. It should be sufficient for several years at least, I hope, :-) - Alex |

Hey all. I'm curious how many telescopes you all have purchased for yourselves over the years of your observing. Well, let's see. When I was about 10, I made an f/30 refractor for myself using seconds from Edmund. About 10 years ago, my wife bought me a 4-1/2-inch reflector. About six years ago, I bought myself a C5+. About three-and-a-half years ago, I bought myself a used Ranger, and about two-and-a-half years ago, I bought myself a Starsplitter 10-inch f/6 truss. So I've bought three consumer scopes, I bought the pieces to make a fourth, and I've received a fifth as a gift. Hey all. I'm curious how many telescopes you all have purchased for
yourselves over the years of your observing. I've bought one. Hi: When I was younger, in the military, in college, etc., I pretty much limited myself to one or two--my Edmund 4.25" Palomar Junior, and whatever C8 I was infatuated with at the time. I guess I've been pretty conseravative over 39 years of observing (compared to Chas, anyway). Maybe 15 - 20 all told (I've got 9 at the moment ;-) .
