Default Poncet Table tracking

All

Tonight I setup a poncet table for my dob. It was designed for 30
degrees latitude. My latitude here is aprox 30.31. Anyway after
setting the table up. Leveling it and correcting for 7 degrees of
magnetic declination offset. I find the table works somewhat but Im
still seeing drift in the scope when looking at a star under low to
medium magnification around 70-100X . I tried adjusting the coarse
tracking but with no avail.

Even with everything setup should the stars be fairly stationary.? I
compared it against my meade starfinder on a GEM and it tracks well
with very little drift when properly aligned. Should the poncet table
approach the GEM in tracking ability or am I asking to much of it.
Any one have experience with the poncet.?

Thanks

Rich

Which way is it drifting?
Remember that you are still doing a polar alignment when setting one of
those up so you have to do all of the steps appropiate to the errors you are
getting. You have to do the drift alignment method as the Polar pointing is
a lot more difficult to setup properly.

Bob

Thanks for answering it was drifing south west. Probabaly have to
tweak the polar alignment again.

Thanks
