I remember there were several who haven't liked the Lord of the Rings movies
because they felt they didn't stay true to the books. Well, check out the movie being made from Robert Ludlum's Bourne Supremacy. If you've read it, you know how long it is and realize that there is no way a 2 hour movie could capture all the important events and personalities. Well it gets even worse. According to some pre-release web sites: "The film will have to stray from the novel, just as the original did. 'It will be totally different. The stories in all three books are very dated. It 's about the cold war and things that have all been resolved and are over with.' " That to me says, there will be a movie that doesn't match the book except for maybe the names of some of the characters and organizations. Sometimes you wonder why they are even keeping the name. :-) |
