Does anyone know how the situation is today for the fameous 28 cm refractor
in Dorpat (now Tartu) made by Joseph Fraunhofer in 1825?
The instrument survived the 2. world war in a dismanteled condition, but
have it been restored?

Hi:

The last I heard it was in pretty poor shape, unfortunately. :-(

It's too bad that it's in bad shape. I always thought it's mounting
had a very nice appearance, almost sweeping.

It is standing in the museum of the old Tartu Observatory. Just visited it
