Any one try this 2" 30mm eyepiece, selling on ebay, for $95? It has 80 deg

This eyepiece (also sold by ATWB), has been much discussed. Do a Google
newsgroup search. I have one that I got from ATWB, and I like it in our 6"
f/6 mak-newt and 10" f/5.7 dob. Some folks in our club did a direct
comparison with an UO 32mm Konig in these scopes, and everyone pretty much
agreed that it was as sharp and bright as the UO until its fov exceeded the
UO's, and then it fell off. On the other hand, on the internet many other
folks have commented very negatively. I have seen them go for as little as
$75 on Astromart. As always, I would try before you buy.

So, you mean the edge is not as sharp as the UO's? Maybe, the quality not as
consistant than other, more expensie brands, that's why it's cheap.

That isn't what I mean. Mine is as sharp and bright as the Kong up to the
point where the fov exceeds the fov of the Konig, and then it gets pretty
bad. Also, I have looked through a couple of them, and I have no reason to
believe that they are not of consistent quality. There is a long story
about why it is so cheap - do a google search, and look at the 1rpd website.
