Default Astro sky chart software

I am looking for astro chart software which will filter out DSO's by
type eg display only globular cluster or planetary nebs etc.

Ones I have tried such as HNsky and Cartes Du Ciel dont seem to have
that functionality.

Any suggestions?

I guess I could have pointed out that XEphem is only for Mac
OS X and Linux/Unix, and I should have realized that since you
didn't mention an operating system you are almost certainly
using Windows...sorry 'bout that.

SkyTools 2 filters by type of object and many other factors, including
what you're observing with and the local conditions. It's great for
planning a session.

Downey has a Microsoft Windows version of XEphem and XEphem will compile
and run under Cygwin for Microsoft Windows.

I believe Skymap will do this. The old Windows 3.1 version has this capability
so I would guess that the newer versions do as well.

There is a demo version available at:
