Last night here in Binghamton NY there was a persistent auroral glow in
the north. It was fairly bright but almost featureless with only a few weak rays, arches, and other forms. The early color was a faint, curious bluish, eventually changing into dim reds and greens only apparent in digital photos. Alas, I missed quite a bit of the display because of clouds. -- Joe Bergeron http://www.joebergeron.com |

Here Wilkes-Barre, PA it was the same. Bright, featureless. Thought I saw a
curtain like feature with averted vision at one point. At 10:02PM local saw a really nice meteor come from zenith, zip past Casiopiea & Polaris, down to the horizon. Looooong tail too. That made up for the lack of good Aurora. Ralph 41 16N 75 50W |

We have it in Poughkeepsie!!! See my post on it! Absolutely AWESOME!!! My first aurora after 30 years of astronomy. Gott a go see if it fired back up yet! Tom R. Tonight was much more active here too. There was a bright outbreak around 7 which included a zenith corona and some bright reds and greens. I've seen better displays, but this was nothing to sneeze at. For the last few hours it has been a quiet glow simmering in the north. -- Joe Bergeron www.joebergeron.com |

Last night (from 7 to 7:30 PM Thursday night) was my first aurora
sighting. From the shores of lake Erie on the east side of Cleveland, it looked like long sheets of red haze. No distinguishable features were present (or if they were, i didn't recognize them). By 8 PM, it had diminished considerably.
