Nice brilliant scarlet aurora along the entire northern sky up to 80 degrees
azimuth turning into a fast-moving red patch moving west. Faint curtaining
evident despite the moon. Nice display! Second time in my life. This storm
isn't over yet!

I noticed the red curtain in the west when I got home at 7:00-pm EST.
Also some blue/white rays rising from the north. I'm also in upstate NY.

Very similar report from SE Pennsylvania (40 deg N, 75 deg. W) at 2400UT.
Bright scarlet covering entire northern sky. Faded within 5 minutes though.

In Poughkeepsie bright scarlet/pink to the northeast from horizon to
nearly Zenith, blue/green to the north and I saw on round one at the
Zenith that lasted about 25 seconds and faded out. So far 2 displays
separated by about 10-15 minutes.

AWESOME!!! My first in 30 years of astronomy!

Yes, that display to the northeast was intense. This was my second in 33 years
of active interest in the sky...the first one was a gorgeous display last
September that sent searchlight beams of bright green with a neon-green glow
underneath that turned into curtains of red last year while I was observing at
the Catskills Astronomy Club site in Liberty. Keep your eyes to the skies and
to spaceweather.com!
