I did not observe it this morning, but I saw a fireball last night at
dusk (about 16:45UT), traveling north to south.

It was as bright as Venus setting in the west!!

Not much to report here in Tokyo. We have rain tonight and had it
last night, too. The night before that, I did manage to see 3
meteors that definitely traced back to the Orion radiant, but
that's all she wrote so far.

A few nights ago (Monday ?) at dusk, I caught a glimpse of an
orangish meteor trailing through my northern sky (somewhere
near Lyra/Hercules/Cygnus) traveling from my East to WNW.
It was about Mag. -3, and left a brief smoke trail.

Since the direction is not typical of space debris, I can only assume
that it was an Orionid. How it managed to wrap around the Earth
is puzzling. Perhaps the Moon deflected it enough to make it to
Earth's sunset terminator.

Later that evening, I saw another very bright meteor, going South to
North, almost straight overhead. If I recall correctly, the main trail
was greenish-white, but ended in an orange pop! That could have been
space junk, but I'm not sure.

Cheers,
Larry G.

I saw a few after midnight. They were not terribly bright, but the rate was
fairly low (probably 5 to 10 per hour). Clear skies to you.

The activity on our Colorado allsky cameras is about 4 times higher than normal,
and we've recorded several fireballs over the last few nights.
