Default Mars is a problem

You know I just don't understand why at 180 X's and even 240 X's through a
barlow, F11 - 80mm
that Mars won't show it's darker features. I can make out the small white
dot of the SPC and a well defined disc but..NO MARKINGS! This was pretty
much the case around the time of closest approach also. I even used #21
filter and moon filters for the EP's with the same result.

Seeing was quite good last night and transparency was below average and I
cleanly split the double double Epsilon Lyr even with below or avg.
transparency.
