Could someone point me to a laser collimator for my 12-inch Dob that
has the following characteristics: 1. A REAL ON-OFF SWITCH. You know, the kind of switch with TWO positions -- ON and OFF. A switch the clicks or detents into ON and OFF. NOT one of these idiot "switches" that's a 3/4-inch long threaded shaft with a knurled end that you twist in or out and at some point it turns the collimator on or off, or not. 2. A REAL BATTERY COMPARTMENT. I'm looking for a laser collimator with a battery compartment that's marked "BATTERY" that either snaps or slides open/closed to reveal the battery. I really don't want to have to dig out the damn instruction sheet to find where the battery is located. And don't suggest the Orion Deluxe Laser Collimator. I had one of those until last night. It's now in 10 feet of water at the end of our community dock. With a dead battery. |

Hi Don't use a laser collimator. I've given up on them as I see little advange to using one over a little bit of training your eyes and hands. lasers don't do as good a job anyway unless you used the barlowed method. Even then, it still need final adjustment by your eye anyway. Dwight |
