Yes, that's it--we're too snowbish.

How can you tell that an s.a.a. post is from Canada?

10. We pronounce 'scope', 'scoop'.
9. Images through Canadian scopes are just, well...nicer.
8. The stars in Canada are just as bright, they just don't have as much
publicity.
7. 24 hours after Canadian content crosses into the U.S., it develops a
drawl.
6. We pronounce 'drool'...no, strike that.
5. 'Must go on...Must finish newsgroup response...fingers freezing to
keys...must press Retur....'
4. References to large furry things sprinkled inappropriately
throughout observing reports.
3. All the good stuff is over on your side of the sky.
2. Northern Lights flickering, flickering, so hypnotic....

and the number 1. reason you don't see more posts from Canada:

1. We're waiting for our turn to speak!

As for star parties, are you really going to rush up from Arizona to
catch the next Foymount weekend, or the Frozen Banana Star Party near
Powassan? OK, then here you go:

We're too busy enjoying the 98% clear skies we get up here, throughout
the year (ya, right)... grin

Actually, this latest run of rain and cloud was deserved after weeks of
post Mars opposition clear skies. I've run so many tours, it was nice to
have a break. Now I head down to New Brunswick to drum up some biz for a
cross-Canada night sky tours promotion for next year.

Just myself right now and a part-time astronomer who helps out when I
get a larger party of people coming out for a tour.

My equipment is a 10" LX-200 GPS w/UHTC and Starry Night Pro drives the
show. My fellow astronomer has a ETX 90 for the wide field views. The
best of both worlds.

He brings his Meade EP for Mars and lunar feasting, and I have a SC1
mod'd Vesta Pro for deep-sky munchies. We play encores well into the
night. grin

I wasn't going to say anything...

Canadian astronomy bumper stickers :

5) I'm with the dobsonian user. (just kidding)

4) My other telescope is a Takahashi.

3) Save the refractors.

2) DSC-free zone.

1) Make telescopes, not war.

but I didn't want to offend anyone

Eric.
