I've got an ultima 9.25 f/10 with the standard Celestron 25mm Plossl EP that
came with it. I also have a TeleVue 13mm Plossl. In addition, I've got 10 and 20 Celestron Plossls. On top of those, I've got an f/6.3 focal reducer and a Celestron 2x barlow sv series. So, with the eyepieces I currently have, I can have several different combinations of power. Yet I feel as though I should have a larger (wider field of view) eyepiece. The question is, which one. Of course it all comes down to price and I'd prefer not to have to spend more than 300-350 on it. What reccomendations might y'all have? Thanks Alex |

It seems to me that Celestron advertises the C9.25 as being optimized for
imaging and for visual applications using 2" eyepieces. How about the William Optics 2" SCT diagonal for $99 and a BW Optik 30mm WideScan for $95. I doubt you will have good success using this combo with the r/c, but without, it will give you about as wide a field as is possible. -Stephen "Alex Vukasin" wrote in message news:qdJ4b.243048$cF.77201@rwcrnsc53... FIrst, get a 2" star diagonal. Then go to Astromart or other astronomy flea
market sites and look for used 2 inch 40mm or larger eyepieces. Alex Vukasin wrote: I've got an ultima 9.25 f/10 with the standard Celestron 25mm Plossl EP that came with it. I've gotta send B I G thanks to all you folks who've taken the time to
respond with good solid answers - the kind I was looking for. I'm going to get a Meade 2" diagonal 929U with the UHTC coatings. I've got a b-day coming up ya see... I'm still thinking about an eyepiece (now a 2" one at that) and will take a look at some of the links you folks have provided. A quick question - will my current eyepieces provide a larger field of view with the 2" diagonal? Thanks again - really, I do sincerely appreciate how friendly and helpful y'all have been.
