Not only are they the world leader in low cost stuff.
they have the best natural resouce of the world. this will take a massive program to build in harsh conditions, but will pay off greatly to get stuff to orbit cheap. |

The Himalian mountains top out around 29,000 feet. Perfect spot for a mag lev railgun. Run the track up the side of the mountain ![]() With such a long acceleration run I wonder if they could attach a rocket manned capsule to the rail gun to achieve orbit? Might save a lot of the initial fuel to reach orbit ![]() acceleration would have to be limited for some flights like people or other sensitive cargo |

They are also a huge empire of many nations held together by a repressive dictatorship. Their future is more likely to be like that of the former Soviet Union. They won't be able to catch us until they become just like us. That's the wonderful catch-22 with a free market democracy. |
