The kit is now available. Remember that Orion model from some years
back that was promised, and box art shown, but never appeared? Well,
this ain't it. This'n's better. For starters, it actually exists.

The declassified Orion design papers are online as pdf's if you want to
read them; this one is the best overview of the project:

That's from he http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/cel...ion/index.html

Scott Lowther just posted some info on the craft that were to carry crew
between the Orion and Earth's surface: http://up-ship.com/blog/?p=5167

Scott,

Will you ever consider doing the crewed exploration version of this one?

Sure. But producing such a kit for market would be dependant upon the
market demonstrating that it exists. In other words, if the Battleship
sells like crazy, then additional related kits would be made. if it
doesn;t sell well at all, then no. The thing Allen and I have found
with the kits released by Fantastic Plastic is that there is a clear
link between sales numbers and how militaristically aggressive a
design is. A bomber sells better than a jetliner. So the battleship
should be jsut about the most "aggressive" thing so far offered.
