According to the back cover of his book, it was published 1994, and he
was working in Belgium at the Institute of Technology. I've played with
Google, but it seems he has not published anything since. Anyone know
how to reach him?

May or may not be him. But if you are looking for persons associated
with universities, add "curriculum vitae" to your search phrase. That
is how I found this site with the information you provided.

Well, good try, Sherlock, but I doubt that's him. This fellow seems to
be very young, and his e-mail contains the word student. You did better
than I did. I kept getting the college as part of other nonsense, and no
real link the the college he's at. He wrote a book for Willmann-Bell.
Maybe I'll contact them.

Agreed. You misspelled his name, it is "Hellings".

I find an article that looks like he might have co-authored in 1988 in
Astronomy and Astrophysics, 189, 74

Also these three:
https://commerce.metapress.com/conte...ringerlink.com

https://commerce.metapress.com/conte...ringerlink.com

https://commerce.metapress.com/conte...ringerlink.com

.... may be no use in tracking, since they are about 10 years older
than your lead...

And up jump the devil:
http://sci.tech-archive.net/Archive/...4-09/4096.html

I finally got the best hits with Google:
author astrophysics "hellings p" OR "paul hellings"

Good luck. There is a R.W. Hellings that works for JPL, and he seems
to have flooded the internet too...

Very good. I think the last one did it.
Unfortunately, I'm caught in the middle of transferring my Thunderbird
mail to a new Win7 machine, so all I can deal with is NG mail. I'll mail
him when I'm out of this situation. Thanks for looking.
