Default using VHS to record Mars question

I can only record Mars using my Canon Powershot S-10
(2.1Mpx) This will only take single shots, it has no Movie mode.
However, It can patch into my VCR for recording, just like a camcorder. What
hardware to you guys recommend to import these VHS recordings into my
computer to stack images via Registax?
Any first hand knowledge recommendations?
Thanks much!
Orion
