I thought I read an amateur caught the impact on video? Is it on the
web? Google hasn't coughed up anything yet. |

On July 20th, Dennis Simmons of Brisbane Australia recorded a 75-minute movie of the impact site. Click on the image to launch a gif animation: |

Radio astronomers, both amateur and professional, are currently looking through their data trying to find any suspicious events on the morning of July 19th. So far, it doesn't look like any suspiciously coincidental changes Jupiter emissions were recorded... but stay tuned. -- Dave |

I certainly wouldn't expect a piddling little thing like a 1 km asteroid impact on Jupiter to have any effect on its radio emissions. It would be remarkable if something is detected. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com |

It certainly would be. It's also a great reason to look. -- Dave |
