Where did this comes from? Me? A simple glass pusher, a hacker. Simple point. Pietro used a computer to post to the net. The computer was located in an internet cafe. The computer was infected with a virus. Pietro for some reason had mine and several other people that posted in sci.astro in an M$ address book. The virus read that book and generated several 1000's of virus attacks. The crime was even after pietro was told the system he was using was infected, he *CONTINUED* to use them. Grow the **** up. This was because you, for some reason you have not explained to this day, had their addresses on that system. Are you sure the virus infected mails were from him (you know, by verifying the received from IP, host and so on from the mail header)? Of course as I have never posted here before, I don't know the history of this problem, but I have seen similar things happen other places, where the person accused of having an infected machine where in fact not responsible at all. Many modern mass mailing worms have a SMTP functionality built in, and will scan the hard drive for mail addresses (address books and browser caches for example), and chose one to spoof as the sender. This means that the person that gets all the complaints is in fact not infected(a virus doesn't send itself to this person, as that would be suspicious) and so it will take more time to track the source of the mails. Even if the person that started the thread was the originator, it doesn't mean he has added you to his address list, as the virus could just as well have found the addresses in a browser cache or something like that... I my self have received several mails from mail systems warning me that the mail I sent was infected, when I never have sent any mails to them, never have had a virus infection.. Either someone that have my address in their list must have had the virus, or someone who has been on a site where my mail vas listed got infected, and the virus digged the address from this persons cache... Anyway, its quite frustrating being marked as a virus spreader, when one knows one is innocent of this. This is not an attempt to absolve the thread starter of the blame if he is the guilty one... I just thought I would mention this possibility, just to make sure it was taken in to account, If you have taken this in to account, I apologize for bothering you... Bob Officer would have to answer that question. He is the one who was sent virus' from Pietro. I just like reminding our little kook what a baby brat he was in going to the local police in Italy and asking them to stop the mean ol' Bob from accusing him. I'd further like to know why pietro is interested in email addresses. What does he do, collect them like stamps? Probably tried to send me the same ****, but it probably bounced because he's too stupid to unmunge my email addy, so that's why he asked. Well, yes, I don't think the police anywhere would have the capacity or willingness to investigate such things... There is so much flying around on the net, that only serious stuff, like severe threats, virus making, intentional virus/Trojan proliferation and such could hope to raise any serious effort... If I were accused of spreading viruses, I would rather check my network for any suspicious stuff, and then if I found something, I would apologize, if not, I would report that I didn't find anything, and suggest that it might be spoofed mails from another reader of the board/group(it does happen). Of course, my accusers might not accept this, especially if they were my opposition in some discussion and thought I wanted to take revenge or something, and that would require some further action, but if all failed I would probably just leave the board/group (It wouldn't be worth discussing in if such accusations were to continue), not go to the police, it's not much they could do anyway... -- Dr.Postman USPS, MBMC, BsD; "Disgruntled, But Unarmed" Member,Board of Directors of afa-b, SKEP-TI-CULT® member #15-51506-253.
