You just have to laugh at these people. So what is the current cost of embarrassment nowadays, usually the executives take the money and run! Two SRBs, and four RS-68s! That a Delta IV Medium for each astronaut! With a Delta IV Medium, each astronaut could have their own capsule. These people are severely deluded, with no access to reality. http://webpages.charter.net/tsiolkovsky/ |

Makes one wonder if all govenment agencies have similiar agendas? if they do it appears over 50% of all government spending is pure waste ![]() nASA runs the big isk of being discredited by a private launch operation in operation. if a private company is successful at launching to ISS for a small fraction of nasa cost, its going to be ugly for the agency. |

After a review of the experimental program proposed for the Space Station the Council is issuing the following statement: It is the view of the Council of the American Physical Society that scientific justification is lacking for a permanently manned space station in earth orbit. We are concerned that the potential contributions of a manned space station to the physical sciences have been greatly overstated and that many of the scientific objectives currently planned for the space station could be accomplished more effectively and at a much lower cost on earth, on unmanned robotic platforms, or on the shuttle. The United States needs a vigorous space science program, but such a program can be implemented for the foreseeable future without the proposed manned space station. http://www.aps.org/policy/statements/91_2.cfm |

NASAs charter should be changed to exploration only, and give a 15 year no taxes on any money making space activities tax break to private industry. meanwhile spend nasa money on exploration, like mars, unmanned probes of all planets, some fast intential out of the solar system exploration with special interest in asteroids and comets, landers on some near earth asteroids and mars, and what the heck return to the moon. but first return to moon robotically for devlopment reasons. blanket suitable planets with knock offs of spirit and opportunities |
