Default Gemini Questions

For whatever reason (maybe just the age I was when it was flying), Gemini
has always been my favorite spacecraft. I'm especially interested in "what
might have been", you know? So, a few questions-

Was the paraglider concept supposed to skid along a runway at any speed,
or just pretty much touch down vertically? None of the drawings I've seen show
any real shock-absorbing system in the landing gear. Was any to be provided?
Is the old Revell model kit's landing gear option pretty accurate?

Does the mock-up of "Big Gemini" still exist? Maybe it was sent to a junk yard
like Boeing's SST? A photo of the mockup is at-

http://www.astronautix.com/craft/bigemini.htm

I know many here are avid spacecraft modelers. Anybody have pictures they can
share of models they've built of the proposed Gemini variants?

Thanks,
Dale

P.S. Mark Wade has added bios of Tony Nelson and Roger Healey to his

Should "have", Bob!!

It does sometimes seem like we are reinventing the wheel,
doesn't it? Better late than never, I suppose.

I've got a 1/48th scale Gemini/MOL if you'd like some jpgs of that.
The thing's pretty speculative, as it's hard to find data on it that's
consistent.

There is a nice model of the para-glider Gemini hanging from the ceiling in the
Houston Hard-Rock Cafe', along with lots of other muy frio space memorabilia.

The Saturn V at the right is in an odd position relative to the picture on the
wall

Thanks again!
