More than you'll ever know. Back in the late Pleistocene, (Mid
1970s), we not only had to lear Engineering Graphics (If it was good
enough for Imhotep, it was good enough for us!) We also had to learn
how to use the tools in the Machine Shop.

(When my father was teaching Civil Eng in the late '50s, teh CEng
students were required to learn to, if not drive, at least maneuver a
bulldozer.)

Ah, hell. We used to do that all teh time as undergrads in the '70s.
All you need is a block of balsa and an X-Acto knife.

Or, if it's going into the high speed tunnel, a billet of steel & a
Bridgeport.
