Gang,

I had a great three hours of solar viewing yesterday with the PST I got two
and a half years ago. Absolutely fabulous views, both Cyclops and
binoviewer mode.

Now, all that did was make me want a double-stacked 90 even more than I did
before, but I can't possibly afford the more-than-twelve grand to purchase
one. Anybody have one they'd be willing to give me? :^)

Clear Dark Steady Skies (and we've already had more of these this year than
all of last year!)

Does this work well? Safely?
It appears that it should, if the focal length is long enough. Has
anyone reading built a large aperture H-a instrument using this
approach? Care to comment?

I am in the process of going down this path. I just received a Daystar
130mm ERF and which I will be mounting on my AP160. I was hoping to be
able to do something with my Coronado SM60/BF10 at the focuser end but
we have the central obstruction of the SM60. As a result, I will also
have to pursue a PST and which I will disassemble and proceed accordingly.

Here is something to wet your apetite:
