Default ScyScout Rocks!

Last night I got a chance to try my 3rd SkyScout, the first 2 having
been returned for excessive pointing errors, typically 5 degrees or
more. This, my 3rd, is admittedly far better than the 1st 2, getting
Identify right essesntially all-the-time. Locate is also pretty good
but still not "perfect", with the absolute center of the "Sweet Spots"
often being at the aiming circle's edge, sometimes being as far as the
edge of the FOV and occasionally even further. I suspect the lingering
pointing error to be the result of local magnetic anomalies. Using now
with a green laser pointer which together, is an absolute "Gas" and
not-to-be-missed !...

Just curious how you're affixing the green laser? Rubber bands? I
tried that last night and it was close enough for my wife to be able
to follow along wearing one of the earbuds. However, it isn't
"elegant!"

Visit URL: http://www.telescope.com/
and enter 5677 to the search box near the top right, then click on the
found image; you'll see the laser bracket which is also available
separately (Part# 05677) for US$29.95
