ASTRO: The old M42

Hi all,

this is a old shot of the Great Nebula M42 in Orion, but with a new
elaboration.
The field is of around 4°. Film Ektachrome E200 Professional su FFC 760/4.

Beautiful.

That's quite an interesting camera you have. Many years ago an amateur
astronomer and professional optical engineer, Bob Cox, talked about the
design (and several others). He was lamenting how it was so good for
amateur astrophotography but american amateurs would never consider it
due to the large light loss, 24% in your case, due to the large
secondary. Your photos show that loss to be insignificant compared to
the gains of such a flat, high contrast, wide field of view.

true! The F.F.C. is a very good camera photograph that I've from over
16 years! I have always been enthusiastic of this istrument.
Also with the ccd it is very good.
