sure, out of millions of galaxys that have billions of stars and millions of
planets, you belive that we are the only life? Hay I've know a good bridge I could sell you. -- There are those who believe that life here, began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans, who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltechs, or the Mayans. Some believe that they may yet be brothers of man, who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the heavens. Hi StarLord,
No, I don't at all believe that this bluegreen gem on which we exist is the only place where Life can be found. There has to be many other places. And intelligent Life too. Places where there is intelligent Life many thousands of years more advanced, and many thousands of years less advanced, than are we. Damn that's exciting! But I don't feel that Life is very common AT ALL. It's a fantastic thing Life. So damn many things have to happen to even get to primitive Life forms. At least that's what I believe. This place here - Earth - is so bursting with Liforms it just baalooows mii lillo mind. Whoa... ]:~(|)} C88 Starlord wrote: sure, out of millions of galaxys that have billions of stars and millions of planets, you belive that we are the only life? Well, just look at our galaxy itself, there's something in the range of 500
million stars and if you could the dim ones they are fining now that number could double even. In our galaxy alone there are at lest 25^16th power number of "G" class stars. Apply the one set of mat they've set up for telling the possiable distance between worlds that might have life at our level, it comes to something like at lest 400light years. Now this is all guess work, but it's the best they can do right now. I figure that even if that number ended up being say maybe 1,000lys, the number of worlds with life at our level still would be one heck of a good number. And then if you look at photos of other galaxys, and some of them are even bigger than our own, that number goes "Out of sight". Now maybe and most likly there's not life around every star, but using ours as a base, then I like to think that life at lest at our level is not that strange or rare. And this is using our known life factors as the base, but if you make a few changes, then the numbers start to really go crasy. I've done it and I've had the distance go up to 10,000lys and others drop down to 5lys.. So we'll not know until the first true Starship is manned, a star is picked (G class one) and goes to it. Someday we'll know for sure, but it's going to be a long time. -- There are those who believe that life here, began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans, who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans.
