As dusk deepens and the stars come into view,
look below the Moon for the pair of stars in
the tail of Scorpius known as the Cat's Eyes
(Lambda and Upsilon Scorpii).

Jupiter's moons Io and Europa both cast their
tiny black shadows onto Jupiter from 8:22 to
9:57 p.m. EDT.

Monday, September 4

Uranus is at opposition tonight, opposite the
Sun in our sky.

Tuesday, September 5

As dawn grows bright Wednesday morning, use binoculars
or a wide-field telescope to pick up Venus very low
above the east-northeast horizon (below Saturn).

Wednesday, September 6

Have you hunted out the deep-sky sights of the rich
little constellation Vulpecula? Can you even locate it?
(Hint: it's just south of Albireo.)

Thursday, September 7

Full Moon.
