There has apparently been an explosion and ongoing structure
and grassfire at the United Technologies Pratt and Whitney Space Propulsion Systems site in San Jose, CA (600 Metcalf Road). Reports are that it happened about 6:15pm pacific time. My mother *heard* the explosion at their house which is about 18 miles away, so it was a fairly big one. What happened, what blew up and possible casualties are not yet being reported that I am aware of. -george william herbert |

Today's news said, "Officials have no idea what caused the explosion." Ok, I can understand if they don't know for sure. But hmm, rocket fuel faciltiy? I might have a clues. ;-) --Damon |

Here's a link to San Jose's KNTV-11, the local NBC television affiliate. They have a link on their webpage to a video of the plant damage and interviews with witnesses. http://www.nbc11.com/news/2391445/detail.html -- Rusty Barton - Antelope, California |"Every so often, I like to | stick my head out the window, Visit my Titan I ICBM website at: | look up, and smile for the http://www.geocities.com/titan_1_missile | satellite picture."-Steven Wright |
