A couple of days ago (I think it was Tuesday) I went to www.nasa.gov and
clicked on the view nasatv link. It was around noon, maybe a little later. The video being shown was of one of the SRBs tumbling to earth. Right before it splashed into the ocean I thought I saw the deck of a ship. Were my eyes playing tricks on me or would the SRB have landed that close to a pickup vessel? The next video that was played was titled "Right SRB...." So I went back to multimedia archives looking for the left SRB videos and there are none that I can find. There are only right SRB videos listed. alien |

The index is nice, thanks. Isn't .asx a proprietary format of Microsoft not available on all computers? A better format is RealPlayer's .ram, plays better on Linux. http://mfile.akamai.com/18565/rm/etouchsyst2.download.akamai.com/18355/real.nasa-global/sts-121/right_aft_srb.ram The best format/resolution I've seen is the mpg version, http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/...b_fd01h_ra.mpg All it needs is a good interlace filter to clean it up and it would be really sharp. MPG versions of the full length versions would be nice to see. The Beatles, "Yellow Submarine", goes good with the splashdown and underwater scenes of the R SRB aft (?fd01h?) camera. I counted at least 5 or 6 times that you could see the flames of the SSMEs as the earth spun by. -- Craig Fink Courtesy E-Mail Welcome @ |

The left views are there but they only show launch and separation, no splashdown into ocean. I watched the right side videos again. I wonder if what I saw was the parachute floating on the surface while the camera was under water. Maybe I just got my timeframe cornfused? alien |
