Default Welders Glass for viewing Solar Eclipse

I've been given Welder's glass with the following stamped on it, EN169 11
MUREX
Anyone know if these are safe for viewing a Solar Eclipse?

To clarify,
Two lenses have EN169 11 MUREX, and the other two have EN169 SH11 stamped
on them.

I've used soot from a candle on glass in the 50th, mind you I now need specs
for close-up detail!

I used a welders glass myself for viewing (naked eye not through a
telescope) a few times without trouble.

I have tried both and found that welder;s glass was not opaque enough and
did not dim the light sufficently to see sunspots though there aren't any at
the minute anywho.

I vaguely remember being told to hold up an ordinary B&W photographic
negative to protect my eyes from the sun during an eclipse in my
childhood. But that was in the last century.
