Well, here's a drawing of the Navy's submarine-launched drone attack
surveillance/aircraft, and it is not a pretty thing: http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviatio...cbccdrcrd.html Pat |

I think the Flying Sub's design owed a lot to Cousteau's Diving Saucer: http://www.cousteau.org/en/cousteau_...ing_saucer.jpg .....with a little Pal WOTW Martian War Machine thrown in for good measure. And then there's this Russian thing: http://www.laesieworks.com/ifo/lib/disc.html#ekip Which even has the color right. I think that diving the Flying Sub into the water at around 300 mph is going to be stressful on both the machine and its crew- major eyeballs out deceleration. Now as for diving a heavily modified P-40 into the water... :-D |

OM,
I am sure Rob Arndt will provide very complete documentation of how German reseachers perfected the needed powerplant technology sometime between 1938 and 1945. All we must do is sit and wait patiently. *S* John |
