LOL. Your right. My first thought was "Hey, that kind of looks like
that space ship Charlton Heston was in during Planet of The Apes."

I think their "Andrews CA1 Final Presentation" is interesting, too.

And then there is ACES/Gryphon for HTHL.

How does this Alchemist stuff work?, any other source of details ?

on http://www.andrews-space.com/content...ubsection=MTA5

Gryphon™ Aerospaceplane

Andrews Space has developed the Alchemist™ Air Collection and Enrichment System (ACES) as
well as the Gryphon™ RLV architecture.

The Alchemist™ ACES technology is critical for Horizontal Takeoff, Horizontal Landing
(HTHL) RLV architectures because it eliminates the oxidizer propellant weight (roughly half the total
vehicle weight) at takeoff by generating Liquid Oxygen (LOX) from atmospheric air while flying at subsonic speeds.

Does this remind anyone here besides me of that foto of the early Apollo
Block 1 CM interior, with the guy standing up in the middle hitching up
his pants or something...?

The Gryphon reminds me of an Estes Orbital Transport. Hell, that means
design and development work was completed by thousands of ten year old
kids in the 1970's! Nothing left to do now but build the darn thing!

Do you mean this one:

http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/pao/Hi...ges/1-151b.jpg

I'm kind of surprised that they are showing crew members in the new CEV
only wearing coveralls. You would think they would wear pressure suits
for launch and landing. With 10 people wearing pressure suits, the
interior
won't appear to have so much room. Also, where would you store 10
pressure
suits after launch (or at least 6?)
