Default White Dwarves & Degenerate Matter?

What's the current state of the art in research in this area?

They are held up (from gravitational collapse) by electron
degeneracy pressure. For more detail, try Google.

Does electrostatic repulsion between nuclei govern the internuclear
spacings?

[URLs deleted]

JS Nothing state-of-the-art here.

You probably first have to demonstrate that you understand the basics
or pose your question with a bit more details.

If you want state-of-the-art with respect to white dwarfs, hit the
four main astronomy journals: Astrophysical Journal, Astronomical
Journal, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, and
Astronomy & Astrophysics.
