This month read about some of the highly viewable objects in the northern
hemisphere winter evening skies. Coming up this month Venus will reappear in the morning skies at the end of the month; Mars, Jupiter and Saturn continue to be visible; Saturn retrogrades to the Beehive Cluster, and many other celestial thrills and spills. Also the Stardust comet sample return capsule will be dropped off from the Stardust spacecraft on 15 January; and the New Horizons mission to Pluto launches on 17 January.
