Default DARWIN A N0-SHOW FOR SEANCE DEBATE WITH VELIKOVSKY.

-- BULLETIN --

By PRESTON DuQUENSE

PRINCETON, N.J. (Rueters) --
The late Charles Darwin chickened
out of his seance debate with the
late, great Immanuel Velikovsky
late last night, failing to put in an
appearance in an attempt to defend
his cochimany theory of man's evolution.
"Let's not be too harsh until we know
why he didn't show," said Lawrence
Small, Secretary of the Smithsonian.
"Maybe the transit strike had something
to do with it."
Howard Stern, who was to broadcast
the seance live on Sirius Radio, was
livid.
"Darwin is a rat's -ss for leaving all
our $12.99-a-month customers in the
dark," said Stern. "He's got a lot of
explaining to do."

A few choice tidbits from the book, "Mankind in Amnesia,"
by the late, great Dr. Immanuel Velikovsky:

"But he (Charles Darwin) saw these animals,
their bones splintered, heaped in the strangest
assemblages -- giant sloths and mastodons together
with birds and mice.

He had to forget these pictures of disaster in order
to invent a theory of a peaceful earth unshaken in its
entirety . . . (but) he could not pass over it in silence
in 'Origin of Species'.

"He wrote: 'The extinction of species has been involved
in the most gratuitous mystery . . . No one can have
marveled more than I have done at the extinction
of the species.'

"Darwin concluded: 'Certainly, no fact in the long history
of the world is so startling as the wide and repeated
extermination of its inhabitants'."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Quoting Eisely, when at the University of Kansas in 1943,
quoting an observer of an awe-inspiring scene spread all
over Alaska:
"... in certain regions of Alaska the bones of these extinct
animals lie so thickly scattered that there can be no question
of human handiwork involved.
"Though man was on the scene of the final perishing,
his was not, then, the appetite nor the capacity for such
giant slaughter."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"These remains were obviously heaped together in single
actions of nature . . . Alfred Russel Wallace, who
simultaneously with Darwin announced the theory
of natural selection, in puzzlement drew the attention
of the scientific world to the Siwalik hills, at the foot
of the Himalayas, their several hundred miles of length
practically packed with bones of animals . . .

"It seems impossible to attribute the phenomenon
to the unaided efforts of man. In this great carnage
are myriads of animals, limb torn from limb, in great
heaps, over tens of miles, mixed with splintered trees."

========================================

In 1963, the editors of American Behavioral Scientist
magazine were convinced of the merits of Dr. Immanuel
Velikovsky's science -- contained in "Worlds in Collision"
and "Earth in Upheaval," published in the early 1950s --
and were aware of the mushroom cloud of denial that had
been generated from within the scientific community.

The editors considered these events to be of major
importance to the history of science.

Therefore, they displayed tremendous courage by devoting
their September 1963 issue to defending Velikovsky.

It contained three papers dealing with the Velikovsky
controversy -- by Ralph Juergens, Livio Stecchini and
publisher Alfred de Grazia, as well as a paper submitted
by Velikovsky himself.

Three years later -- in 1966 -- this edition of American
Behavioral Scientist wound up as a hard-cover book entitled
"The Velikovsky Affair: The Warfare of Science and Scientism,"
edited by de Grazia and published by University Books Inc.,
New Hyde Park, N.Y.

==========================

"THE VELIKOVSKY AFFAIR"
Foreward
(By Alfred de Grazia)

In 1950, a book called Worlds in Collision, by Dr.
Immanuel Velikovsky, gave rise to a controversy in
scientific and intellectual circles about scientific
theories and the sociology of science.

Dr. Velikovsky's historical and cosmological concepts,
bolstered by his acknowledged scholarship, constituted
a formidable assault on certain established theories
of astronomy, geology and historical biology, and on
the heroes of those sciences.

Newton, himself, and Darwin were being challenged, and
indeed the general orthodoxy of an ordered universe.

The substance of Velikovsky's ideas is briefly presented
in the first chapter of this book.

What must be called the scientific establishment rose in
arms, not only against the new Velikovsky theories but
against the man himself.

Efforts were made to block dissemination of Dr. Velikovsky's
ideas, and even to punish supporters of his investigations.

Universities, scientific societies, publishing houses,
the popular press were approached and threatened; social
pressures and professional sanctions were invoked
to control public opinion.

There is no doubt that in a totalitarian society, not only
would Dr. Velikovsky's reputation have been at stake, but
also his right to pursue his inquiry, and perhaps his own
personal safety.

As it was, the "establishment" succeeded in building a wall
of unfavorable sentiment around him: to thousands of scholars
the name of Velikovsky bears the taint of fantasy,
science-fiction and publicity.

He could not be suppressed entirely. In the next few years
he published three more books. He carried on a large
correspondence. And he was helped by friends and by
a large general public composed of persons outside of the
establishments of science.

The probings of spacecraft tended to confirm -- never to disprove --
his arguments.

Eventually, the venomous aspects of the controversy,
the efforts at suppression, the campaign of vilification
loomed almost as large, in their consequences to science,
as the original issue.

Social scientists, who had been generally aware of Dr. Velikovsky's
work, now found themselves in the thick of the conflict.
The involvement of the social and behavioral sciences in the
scientific theories of Velikovsky was higher than had been earlier
appreciated.

The social sciences are the basis of Velikvsky's work: despite his
proficiency in the natural sciences, it is by the use of the
methodology of social science that Velikovsky launched his challenge
to accepted cosmological theories.

No one pretends that this method is adequate. New forms of
interdisciplinary research are needed to wed, for example, the study
of myth with the study of meteorites.

Nor does one have to agree that Velikovsky is the greatest technician
of mythology, even while granting his great conceptual and
synthesizing powers.

Whatever the scientific substance, the controversy itself could not
be avoided or dismissed by behavioral science.

The problem of sicence is one of the agitating problems
of the twentieth century. The issues are clear: Who determines
scientific truth: Who are its high priests, and what is their
warrant? How do they establish their canons? What effects
do they have on the freedom of inquiry, and on public interest?

In the end, some judgment must be passed upon the behavior of the
scientific world and, if adverse, some remedies must be proposed . . .

It is our hope that the publication of these papers in the present
volume (a revised and enlarged version) will make it less easy for
Velikovsky's new work to be suppressed, or lightly dismissed.

We hope, too, that they will help scientists and interested laymen
everywhere to rehearse the problems and to reform the errors
of the vast enterprise of science. -- END OF QUOTE

MAN AS OLD AS COAL
All Specimens Found Between Anthracite Veins

(Strata geologically dated at a minimum of 280 million years)

Here are just a few of the thousands upon thousands of specimens
of petrified bones, teeth and/or even soft organs -- some human --
that I have discovered between two separate anthracite veins
in Northeastern Pennsylvania over the past 25 years.

Strange, according to scientific doctrine, they couldn't possibly
have been found in Carboniferous strata, dated at a minimum
of 280 million years.

You see, every scientific textbook insists that no large land
animals, let alone man, existed back then. Hell, man wouldn't begin
evolving until multi-millions of years later, the pseudos proclaimed.

But the incredible arsenal of petrified bones, teeth and even soft
organs proves -- beyond doubt -- that man and large land animals
indeed had been around when coal was being formed. Otherwise,
their mortal remains could not have been preserved between layers
of anthracite as the result of a catastrophe beyond our wildest
imagination.

And, since this is the grim evidence that a catastrophe happened
before, there is NO question that it could happen again.

Velikovsky provided evidence of catastrophes in his two books,
"Worlds in Collision" and "Earth in Upheaval," published back
in the early 1950s. In them, he offered undeniable evidence of
calamities beyond human comprehension but was ridiculed
and badmouthed by members of the deceitful, dishonest Scientific
Establishment.

Here's a copy of these two books, in paperback, and an explanation
why Velikovsky was treated with scorn and contempt, which is how
members of the Scientific Establishment have treated me for the last
23 years.

A longtime newspaperman, I figured -- realizing I was getting
the shaft from the Scientific Establishment -- I'd get a fair shake
from newspapers in an effort to tell my story.

I thought editors would be genuinely interested in what might've
sounded like a farfetched story, except that it was backed up by
petrified bones, teeth and soft organs as old as coal.

Reporters from the Allentown (Pa.) Call-Chronicle and Las Vegas
Sun, to mention just two, were greatly impressed. But when their
stories appeared in print, it took my breath away. The articles were
completely negative, making me look like that proverbial horse's
ass.

Naturally, there was nothing I could do about it, so I had to give up
on newspapers completely. I had long known the New York Times,
Washington Post and Philadelphia Inquirer wouldn't touch it because
they had several opportunities to do so but bowed to their vested
interests and ignored me.

Ditto for the TV network news shows like "60 Minutes."

For the longest time, it appeared the world would never know the truth
about the catastrophe that decimated both man and animal while coal
was being formed.

Then a miracle happened -- along came the Internet which gave me
a way to reach the pubic. But, of course, the public wasn't paying
attention because members of the Scientific Establishment kept making
me look like a fool and an imbecile.

And, if you recall, they had been doing a mighty fine job of it
until the past few years as I assembled the assortment of petrified
bones, teeth and soft organs (some human). That's when members
of the Scientific Establishment got the second biggest shock of their
lives, dwarfed only by the second jet plowing into the Twin Towers.

Suddenly overnight, with the presentation of an arsenal of physical
evidence, the ridicule and character assassination have eased
somewhat.

Suddenly, their cannons had ran out of ammunition, accusations that
I'm a liar and a fraud.

Suddenly, these Clown Princes of Science -- long having made
a joke at the expense of sacred Science -- finally realized that
their involvement in deceit, deception, collusion and conspiracy
might finally be catching up to them and their monumental fraud.

These Omniscient Buffoons have defended their colleagues
who, with incredible audacity, have made a mockery of physical
evidence, totally ignoring it and sometimes even tampering with it.

Thomas Alva Edison probably put in a nutshell what they were
doing for so long, and my dear friend Clayton was right on target,
too.

========= ABOUT SOME OF THE SPECIMENS =========

THE VERY FIRST DISCOVERY

The following is the very first discovery of petrified bone in
coal-bearing Carboniferous strata in June 1981.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith1/first.jpg

The specimen, which I found by accident, resembled a giant skull
and the Smithsonian expressed an interest after receiving a photo,
inviting me to bring it down to Washington so it could be examined
firsthand.

Three of its "experts" -- an anthropologist, a paleontologist and a
geologist -- looked it over carefully but, after a few minutes,
concurred that it was nothing more than a rock or concretion,
certainly nothing that had ever lived.

No one mentioned that a microscopic study of the specimen's
cellular structure would accurately identify whether it is or is not
bone. (I had no knowledge of this fact at the time and wouldn't
become aware of it until many months later)

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/brain/textbook.gif
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Newpix3/thefactthat.gif

In any event, while preparing to leave the Smithsonian, I politely
asked if they would want to keep the specimen, perhaps to break
apart the jaw-like area to see if teeth could be found inside. The
three "experts" -- Joseph Brown and Robert McCurdy, the only
two names I remember -- laughed at me and said it would be
an absolute waste of their time.

About a month later -- rather discouraged -- I decided to search
the interior of the jaw-like area on my own. It began with a ice pick
to penetrate the rock hardness, then using all sorts of small tools
to reach inside and, strangely, begin pulling out what resembled
brownish dirt.

I was mystified that some sort of cavity existed and contacted
the Smithsonian about this -- but was totally ignored.

After several weeks of part-time probing, I found a pair of peculiar
objects inside. Photos were taken, greatly enlarged and sent to
Krogman, one of the world's foremost human anatomists who
wrote the book, "The Human Skeleton in Forensic Medicine."

Our friendship had begun months previous when I had driven
to Lancaster to show him the first strange specimen I had found
that had come from between coal veins -- the large skull that
the Smithsonian later dismissed as a rock.

Krogman studied the photo of the inclusion, then told me over
the phone that the object is definitely a premolar tooth because
"I can see a pair of cusps."

Here's the photo that Krogman had examined, with the dime
offering an indication of size.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Tool/MVC-014S.JPG

The photo below shows another view of where the premolar was
attached.

http://edconrad.com/oldascoal/images/z1.jpg

Krogman suggested an infrared scan be performed and it was done
at American Medical Laboratories in Chantilly, Va. Here's the result
of the test:

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/coalbones/graph.gif

This is what the laboratory stated in its official report:

http://edconrad.com/ebay/Newpix3/result.gif

It meant that the inclusion in the jaw-like area was neither rock
nor concretion but something that once lived.

When the scan was interpreted later, this fact was confirmed.

http://edconrad.com/oldascoal/images/compatible.gif

It also should be emphasized that microscopic study of the
skull-like object was conducted and Haversian canals -- miniscule
circles, the tell-tale sign of bone -- were visible.

It had prompted Krogman, at one point, to offer great encouragement,
as he followed the discoveries with great interest.:

PETRIFIED HUMAN SKULL

The following specimen was identified by Krogman as a petrified
human calvarium -- a skull with the eye sockets broken off -- after
he personally had examined it and even measured it with
calipers, expressing pleasure with the results..

Krogman, who was personally invited by the Egyptian government
to be present when a Pharoah's tomb was opened years before, is
shown holding the calvarium in the second photo.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/z11calv.jpg
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/krogwskull.jpg

Moments after this photo was taken of Krogman with the specimen,
an associate -- a medical doctor -- walked into his office at the
Cooper Clinic in Lancaster, Pa., and he told him to come closer
to see "the oldest human skull ever found."

Two other photos of the specimen:

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/MVC-006S.JPG
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/MVC-007S.JPG

Meanwhile, a CATscan revealed a second protrusion not visible
to the naked eye but located precisely where it would be expected
to be found in a human cranium.

Here's a copy of that scan:

http://www.edconrad.com/images/catcalv.jpg

This specimen also tested positive for the presence of Haversian
canals under microscopic scrutiny.

Additionally, American Medical Laboratories performed testing
of calculus analysis by crystallography on the specimen and
found "a composition of dried blood intermingled with a few
small crystals resembling calcium oxalate dihydrate."

The laboratory's official report follows:

ANOTHER PETRIFIED HUMAN SKULL -- IN A BOULDER

Another petrified human cranium was found approximately
a year later only a short distance from where the human
calvarium was discovered.

It is embedded in a boulder.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/skullb.jpg
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith1/other1.jpg
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/z2_2.jpg

The Smithsonian was sent a photograph and Raymond Rye,
museum specialist, replied in writing: "The object ... does resemble
the outline of a human skull ... We must do a microscopic study
of the outer rind to determine if it has the structure of bone."

http://edconrad.com/oldascoal/images/rr072782.gif

The Smithsonian had been mailed granules, as requested, then
weeks later replied: "X-ray analysis of the material reveals it to be
quartz, the most abundant material of the earth's crust. So, although
the enigmatic object exposed in the boulder may resemble a hominid
skull, its mineral composition is definitely not that of bone."

http://edconrad.com/oldascoal/images/rr090982.gif

The fact is, "x-ray analysis" is NOTan appropriate test to identify
the presence or absence of cellular structure.

Later, a microscopic photo of granules removed from the specimen
revealed the presence of Haversian canals. (Actually, I knew they
did ahead of time because I had examined other granules
microscopically before sending them to the Smithsonian.)

Here's one of those microscopic photos of the cell structu

Since a femur measures approximately one-fourth of a human
being's height, the femur belonged to someone at least 7 1/2-foot
tall.

PORTION OF A TIBIA (The subject of fraudulently testing by Andrew
MacRae)

This specimen was identified as a portion of a tibia by Krogman
and was subjected to one of the greatest cover-ups in the history
of science.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Smith/newtibia.jpg

Andrew Macrae, then of Calgary University, performed fraudulent
testing when entrusted to examine its cellular structure and publish
the microscopic photos on his web page. Instead. he posted
microscopic photos of a rock or a concretion.

Macrae undoubtedly was advised and assisted by Paul Myers, then
of Temple University in Philadelphia and now at the University of
Minnesota.

When charged with participating in the scam, Myers adamantly denied
it. Then, when I suggested officials of Temple University check their
long-distance telephone calls during the time that Macrae was
"testing" the specimen in the summer of 1996, Myers suddenly admitted
in the talk.origins news group that he had made many phone calls
to Calgary University in that time span but on other business.

It didn't end there. Myers later admitted in talk.origins that he had
FLOWN to Calgary one weekend during that same time period and had
spent time on campus. He said he didn't even have a chance to say
hello to Macrae, claiming he was there on other business.

Here are two additional photos of the portion of the petrified tibia,
(known as EC96-001 for Macrae's fraudulent testing purposes).

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/fossil/z15tib2.jpg
http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/fossil/z15tib1.jpg

In addition, a scanning electronic microscope (SEM) was used
to examine the interior surface features of this specimen and then
compare it with cadaver bone at the same power magnification. These
are the photos at 2,000-times magnification:.

http://edconrad.com/oldascoal/images/bones.jpg

(They would look incredibly similar if the grains were lying in
exactly the same direction.)

The left photo in the first URL below shows what Andrew Macrae
posted on his web page, claiming it was the cell structure of
EC96-001 and nothing like bone should look like (in the right photo).
The next two photos show EC96-001's true cell structure.

http://www.edconrad.com/canals/ts_compare1.jpg
http://edconrad.com/canals/slide1.jpg
http://www.edconrad.com/canals/0505160x.jpg

It was just one of several fraudulent maneuvers perpetrated
by members of the Scientifiic Establishment over the past 23
years when the first specimen -- the large petrified skull -- was
discovered.

Additionally, American Medical Laboratories performed calculus
analysis by crystallography on EC96-001 and determined that it
"consisted predominately of dried blood and protein."

That report follows:

A lung is a soft organ and, as such, many contend it can never
petrify. However, in recent years it was established conclusively
that soft organs can indeed be subjected to the petrification process.

PETRIFIED GALL BLADDER, WITH GALLSTONE

Here's a petrified gall bladder, and a CATscan revealed the presence
of a gall stone inside.

This is one of the specimens that also was tested at American
Medical Laboratories via calculus analysis by crystallography.

It revealed the specimen "consists of a few small pieces of dried
blood," adding that "none of the constituents normally found
in urinary calculi are present." (which comes as no surprise since
the specimen it tested is petrified).

It should be noted that a third "toe" was later found embedded
in the slate where it would be expected to be. A video tape exists
showing the top cover of slate patiently being removed, revealing
the third "toe" just beneath the surface.

I should mention that the petrified femur and petrified dinosaur
foot remain as you see them -- still embedded in slate (or shale)
-- the way they were steamshoveled from between coal veins.

They are somewhere in this photo, taken from approximately five
miles up, of scar-marked land that was strip-mined of its coal. But
those remarkable discoveries are still there if you'd like to search.

PORTION OF GIANT PETRIFIED SCORPION

This is a portion of a giant prehistoric scorpion that was
identified as such by Wilton Krogman.

When the world famous bone expert examined this specimen
found between coal veins, he first turned to me and mentioned
that he had performed countless dissections of scorpions in college.

"What you have, Mr. Conrad (never Ed), is a portion of a giant
prehistoric scorpion," he told me.

When discovered, the specimen was broken in two parts but they
fit together perfectly.

This particular specimen was the subject of another cover-up
by members of the Scientific Establishment -- the Department of
Entomology at Penn State University.

Penn State actually has batted 0-for-3 with its attempted
cover-ups of my specimens: First, its Department of Paleontology
(Roger Cuffey); Second, its Department of Anthropology (Robert
Eckardt). Third, its Department of Entomology (Charles Pitts).

YERKES CONFIRMS SPECIMEN IS BONE

One of the specimens found between anthracite veins was positively
identified as petrified bone by the Yerkes Regional Primate Research
Center at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., which Krogman described
as "the most prestigious institution of its kind in the world."

Jeremy Dahl, one of its bone experts who examined and tested it,
even put it in writing and signed his name, also making a drawing
of the specimen that he had examined and tested..

Dahl definitely had examined the specimen's cell structure because
he had cut off a slice while it was is possession.

PETRIFIED EGGS

Here are what appear to be petrified eggs. About eight of them
were found together more than 200 feet below the original

RAYMOND DART IMPRESSED

The late, great Raymond Dart, MD., relished the opportunity to examine
some of the specimens after Krogman had informed him about them.

This photo shows Dart holding what Krogman identified as a calvarium,
a human cranium with the eye sockets broken off.

http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/fossilx/dart.jpg

Here's Raymond Dart's letter:

===============================================
28 October, 1983
Dear Mr. Conrad:

This is being written as a follow-up to our meeting here in
Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 15, during which I had the
opportunity to examine many of the rock-like objects you
had discovered in the coal fields of Pennsylvania, near
Shenandoah.

In my opinion, the vast majority bear the contour of bone
and may well be petrified bone.

I was particularly intrigued by one of your specimens which
I agree bears a distinct resemblance to a dainosaur head
or a homind skullcap, heavily petrified.

Based on our vast ignorance about vulconology, as regards
both anatomy and anthropology, I am of the opinion that your
findings definitely warrant intense investigation by that subject's
foremost experts, especially here in America where so many
volcanic disturbances occur even today.

Yours sincerely,
Raymond A. Dart (signed)

The Scientific Establishment -- led by its worldwide brood of
arrogant, defiant tenured fossils -- has long been treating
John Q. Public, and his kids, like a jackass, promoting fairy tales
and molesting truth.

Over the past 25 years, it has engaged in deceit, deception, collusion
and conspiracy -- of MONUMENTAL proportions -- and one of the
ringleaders has been the Smithsonian Institution.

No question, members of the scientific establishment academia
-- professors, students and alumni -- have long been fearful
of me and my discoveries because of the dire consequences
they realize that truth would bring.

As for my fight with corrupt, dishonest science, I have long known
it would be a long, hard fight. I think Clayton Lennon (1900-1996),
the dearest friend I've ever had, sized up the situation in a few
eloquent words:
