Televue Ranger for deepsky object photography

I have experience in taking planetary photos by Toucam Pro and start to
try taking other bright objects, e.g. m42, m57, etc.. with my Televue
Ranger and Canon Rebel 300D.

I'm not sure whether this setup is possible?

Anyone used to take such photos with the above equipments, please share
your photo with me so that I know what would I expect from this setup.

Hello there Bob,

I've tried my ToUcam Pro with M42 and M57 with much larger ;-) aperture
NP127 and it just won't work even with gain and gamma cranked up really
high. This camera will need to be modified for long exposure.
However, brighter open clusters would come out ok, nothing spectacular.
Don't know about the Canon Rebel.

Actually did you check out the TeleVue site? I believe they have a
gallery. People are taking some decent photos with the ED-80. With
the Digital Rebel, your best bet would seem to be widefield shots, at
prime focus the FOV is probably something like 2.8 degrees x 2.?
degrees.
