As we all know the Shuttle is a very complex, and apparently fragile,
space vehicle. It has all types of communication and telemetry systems. Could it be possible that the Shuttle crew has internet service on board? The technology for this is certainly possible. And what if they do in fact have it? Is it possible that they have possibly subscribed to the sci.space.shuttle newsgroup? What would you say to the Shuttle crew if you knew that they were reading these postings? Be careful now. We do not know their capability. |

As to what they think, they're probably equal parts ****ed off on the one hand and rolling on their asses laughing on the other |

Could it be possible that the Shuttle crew has internet service on board? They certainly have email. Paul Hill has stated as much: "We haven't talked to the crew about it today because the crew has been busy pretty much from wake-up and they're going to stay busy right up until they have to go to sleep. But I did send a couple of e-mails to them this morning explaining to them where we were," he said. http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/space/0...tle/index.html -- Andy Williams |

They're no doubt downloading the latest Coldplay single off iTunes, in that case. Like they're wasting their time weeding through the idiotic troll postings here... |

We do not know their capability. They have e-mail access over an encrypted connection, as I seem to recall. A few astronauts has lurked here over the years, but they ordinarily just don't have the time nor interest, and don't want to open up their email address to spam, 'interesting people', and the crowds. Can't say I blame them. I'm sure they'd like to think about stuff other than the Shuttle program when not working. ![]() -Dan |
