Sounds like the FAA when they were first introducing the Atlanta TCA (IIRC) and had meetings in Middle Georgia. The conversation had come around to economic impact on Middle Georgia and some locals complained that they didn't like the FAA experimenting with something that would effect the local economy. I was at the meeting and actually heard an FAA rep explain that it wasn't an experiment, they were just trying it out. Also in the 70's, I did some work on a PDP-8. Normally it ran some RPG based OS but we had a disk pack that loaded a CP/M like OS called PS/8 which was apparently a clone of something called OS/8. The front of the manual said "While PS/8 is not OS/8, it is exactly similar" -- David |
