Default Nova Sgr 2005 #2 image/spectrum

Finally bagged this nova discovered by Bill Liller in Chile 6 days ago. At -30.5o declination it's only 8o above the horizon but only 4o for me due to local obstructions in SW London ;-)

Maurice, I had problems matching up the AAVSO 1=B0 detail chart at -

http://www.aavso.org/cgi-bin/shrinkw...NSGR05_2/NSGR=
05_2-D.PNG

with a direct view star field. I prepared a 2=B0 wide finder chart for
star hopping from del Sgr -

http://members.csolutions.net/fisher...er/Nsgr052.gif

Most of the stars plotted on the AAVSO 1=B0 detail chart are plotted on
this wide-field chart inorder to orient the AAVSO detail chart to the
eyepiece. HD or Tycho numbers are listed. One star, HD167616 (v9.6),
is on the 2=B0 degree finder chart but is not plotted on the AAVSO
detailed finder chart.

This may be of use to other amateurs wanting to find AAVSO Nova Sgr
2005 #2.=20
