Default Funny , Anacortes Is Selling their DEMOS on EBAY NOT ASTROMART HAHA :-)

Anacortes Telescope and Wild Bird sells sometimes astronomy items on
Ebay, under the user name atnwb .
ATNWB . Funny name, why not ATWB ? Feels almost like someone's in
denial and wanted that little tiny N to mean NOT , but there they were,
phone number, address, logo, all in their auctions . No mistake there ,
it's them allright . But I can understand why men sometimes could be in
denial .
Now ain't that funny, Herb York doesn't trust his own Astromart to sell
some high end demo items and instead goes to Ebay , why not Astromart
auctions ? Why not just even regular Astromart ads ? Don't they work as
good , maybe ? Astromart is not good enough for Anacortes . Now call me
y'all a nogood Herb basher but why oh why is he doing this is beyond me
, if he trusts his own Astromart as much as he seems to SAY it to
others.

ATnWB is used by the shop because I use ATWB personally.
Our family business places ads on eBay just to keep our name out there. If
we have anything of major value or overstocks we place them on AstroMart.
AstroMart is very much "good enough" for Anacortes or we wouldn't have put
as much money in as we have plus we feel it is the best Astronomy site on
the net.
Matt screwed up a LOT on AstroMart so he has no account there now. Please
factor that fact into his post.

Thank you

Why is it anyone's business where you sell things? Most businesses use more
than one place to advertise or sell products!
As for AstroMart, I browse there several times a day and have found many
bargains. I recently listed 5 items on AstroMart and sold them all for the
asking price in one day! I seldom look at ebay anymore because of the lack
of security there and the chance of being scammed.

Don't worry Herb...even I can see the poster has a bad case of "bitter
grapes".

The only problem I have with Astromart is that I spend far too much
money there. ;)

Hi all, Well, I have no bitter grapes against Herb, and his business
(ATWB) is a great one with always great products, and always very
competive, if not downright lowest prices.

I think it's a good question to wonder why Herb doesn't offer these
"specials" where the majority of the Astro-Community could see them, and
benefit from them?

Perhaps it's Herb's "sense of grandeur"?
Maybe Herb sees it as a safer, more secure venue? Well, whatever it is,
Herb certainly has the right to do as he pleases.

In either case, one no doubt should keep thier eyes on what Herb
sells/auctions. There may be some mighty nice deals to be had! Mark

One good reason might be the inflated prices people pay on Ebay versus
on AM. I've seen people pay more for a used item there than a new one
costs. On Astromart, you'll (usually) end up paying a reasonable price,
and deal with a fellow astro enthusiast who's a damned nice guy.

I've never had a bad buying experience on either, but I do feel better
about
buying on Astromart.

You mean like on the Internet, maybe? Isn't he already offering his
specials to the widest possible audience via the Internet? Is there
some part of the Internet that I and my fellow amateur astronomers are
unaware of or that we are unable to access by virtue of the fact that
we are amateur astronomers?

I think he already explained himself. The alternative venue provides
exposure to an alternative pool of potential customers. Nothing but good
business sense there.

I always thought grapes were sour, due to their acidity. Basic liquids,
like old burnt coffee, are bitter.
