Why doesn't Nasa ask for volunteers from the Astronauts to crew a final
Hubble mission ?? Everyone knows the risks...it would be an all volunteer crew willing to take their chances, that in the extreme could lead to their deaths, but everyone goes into this mission with eyes open. Does anyone think they would or would not find at least 7 Astronauts willing to take on this mission even knowing what he risks are ?? Jeff Lerner |

Risking another vehicle (we only have 3 left remember) and prestige is. Not to mention the money. How much did last year's fireworks show cost? I hate to be the materialistic weasel here, but I'm pretty sure that cash could have gone to better causes other than distributing itself over my back yard. yes. several high ranking and CURRENT NASA astronauts have commented that
the risk is the not worth it, including Rominger. "Jeff Lerner" wrote in message le.rogers.com... Why doesn't Nasa ask for volunteers from the Astronauts to crew a final Hubble mission ?? ![]() yes. several high ranking and CURRENT NASA astronauts have commented that the risk is the not worth it, including Rominger. pleas cite this. Previously the astronaurts were willing to service it to keep it running but not risk their life to retrieve in for a museum display |

SAVE HUBBLE FOR KIDS SAKE!
http://www.Hubble2004.com What Can I do NOW to help SAVE Hubble Space Telescope? The best way to get your voice heard is in chorus with others, as a group we can make sure the Hubble Space Telescope will be maintained for the "Worlds" benefit. NASA has said that the telescope is too "risky" to maintain, but at the same time they support sending astronauts to Mars as their current and past "robotic" missions are repeatedly having serious technical problems. We're starting a GLOBAL petition that will take the voices of people from all over the world and send them to the US Congress to pass a resolution to allow the Hubble to provide imagery until the mission is complete in 2011. At that time, its expected that a new telescope will replace Hubble. ------------------------- Jonathan Silverlight wrote in message ... In message , "Greg D.
